New General Motors Corp high-speed circular test track at Milford, Mich, proving ground; track is designed to accommodate vehicles traveling speeds as high as 125 mph, has five concrete-paved traffic lanes plus 7-ft-wide safety lane for total width of 70 ft, about 4 1/ 2 mi in circumference, outer edge is more than 12 ft higher than inner edge; advantage of circular track is ability to simulate road of infinite length and zero grade; details of paving process and machinery.
