Emissions from passenger car equipped with system under investigation were compared with those from same car equipped with standard carburetor; test vehicles used in study were 1963 Chevrolets equipped with standard 283 cu in. V-8 engines and 3.08:1 final drive ratio; fuel injection system used for tests is timed, port injection system with speed-density control; fuel flow from injector nozzles is intermittent and timed to fixed part of engine cycle so that fuel delivery occurs only during portion of intake stroke when air velocity is high.
