System described is refined version of Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp, 1958 system for producing in-flight harmonic excitation of airframe; inertial type shaker consists of 3 electrohydraulic ram units with their associated circuitry, and controls and safety subsystem; each hydraulic unit has its own control circuitry and all functions of system are controlled from single cockpit panel; sensor units for safety system are located in both wing tips and in vertical fin; sensors are connected in series and additional units can be incorporated into circuit.
