Microvision system for generating runway symbol for landing display using microwave frequencies and monopulse techniques is under development by Bendix Corp for several years; paper presents status report of system improvement accomplished during last half of 1963; sources of distortion and "jitter" in Microvision image were substantially reduced by means of new antenna design, which is described; two of these antennas were installed at Teterboro, NJ, airport; good correlation which was observed between ground antenna patterns and airborne noise seems to confirm that ground environment is major problem.
