British test, being based on constant temperature (or static) method, differs fundamentally from others which use increasing temperature (or dynamic) method; established rheological principles are applied to experimental data in critical analysis of both dynamic and static methods, former being exemplified by German (Martens) test; conclusions favor British Test as International Standard.
