Ice breaker "Mackinaw" built by Toledo Shipbuilding Co, Toledo, Ohio, for use on Great Lakes; length 290 ft; beam 75 ft; main propulsion is accomplished by six Fairbanks-Morse, 10-cyl, 8 1/8-in. × 10-in. opposed piston Diesels each driving 1375-kw, Westinghouse d-c generators.
