Present indications are that interest in axial type of supercharger for aircraft engines will increase at accelerated rate, due, in part, to impetus recently given to development of new designs for various kinds of gas turbines; continuing trend toward higher critical altitude will provide further incentive to exploit relatively high volumetric capacity of axial design.
