Indicator, as used by Army Air Forces, consists of four units, exclusive of compass: pump, controller, amplifier, and computer; electrical circuit diagram is given; indicator gives continuous indication of air position regardless of changes in direction and speed; when properly operated as described, it gives navigator continuous indication of air plot; it is not automatic navigator; it acts as aid to navigator, to do job of dead reckoning when other means become impossible.
