Method employing various simplifying assumptions and then calculating delays is described; it is suggested that delays can be determined from time/distance diagram if flow of traffic is divided into saturated and free flowing portions; this concept is modified to allow for turning traffic and variation of saturation flow at various approaches; practical example of method applied to short linked system is shown.
