Current trend toward development of larger transport aircraft, representing greater investments in vehicle responsibilities, indicates strong need for electrostructural inspection system to determine fatigue status of airframe; developmental studies regarding fatigue-damage evaluation system as applied to transport aircraft; high-elongation strain gage is used to sense and add repetitive strains for assessing fatigue damage.
