Technique was chosen for study because of inherent advantages, in terms of early mission accomplishment and growth potential; ground rules and mission design criteria which governed study; 3-man lunar landing mission would contain system elements listed in addition to Saturn launching vehicles; it must contain command module, spacecraft bus module, environmental control support capsule, mission, and propulsion module; operational plan for 3-man mission and overall weight summary; mission schedule, and cost and funding requirements.
