Study of midcourse guidance for manned lunar missions at Ames Research Center resulted in concept for feasible guidance system described; basic system requirements, design approach and features that on-board system must include; results of digital computer simulation showing that system could provide excellent guidance; system gives optimal estimate of spacecraft's position and velocity at all times with on-board computer.
