Scientific Alouette satellite, joint United States and Canadian project, carried on board 200-lb payload known as TAVE (Thor-Agena Vibration Experiment), designed by Goddard Space Flight Center; object of experiment was to determine vibration and acceleration environment of spacecraft during launch by Thor-Agena vehicle; vibration data taken during launch phase verified that Thor has thrust resonance at low frequencies; experiment established transmissibility of vibrations through Agena stage into spacecraft interfaces.
