AEC Ltd introduces new chassis to meet requirement for low-height double-deckers having singlestep forward entrance and front-mounted engine; chassis, named Renown, is designed for bodies seating up to 76 passengers within box dimensions of 30 ft long by 8 ft 2 1/2 in. wide and 13 ft 5 in. high, and includes air suspension at rear; special features include engine inclined to mate with offside transmission line; dropped-center rear axle and choice of gear boxes; air-suspension with laminated trailing arms at rear, etc; schematics.
