Built by Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co; length oa 492 ft; breadth 69 ft 6 in.; depth molded 42 ft 6 in.; propelled by two Sun-Doxford engines developing 4500 bhp at 180 rpm, which drive single propeller through reduction gearing and Westinghouse electric slip couplings at speed of approximately 79 rpm.
