Allison XTG-250 power train which combines in single housing all requirements for tracked vehicle, namely, power transmission, steering, braking and final drive, is specifically designed for new XM-551 General Sheridan armored reconnaissance assault vehicle; XTG-250 is manually-controlled, full torque shifting, cross-drive power train, designed for use with diesel engines in 250- to 300-gross hp class and includes hydraulic torque converter with lockup clutch; development of 300-lb TX-100 automatic transmission, its five major segments and specifications.
