Mathematical simulation of operation of fleet of berth-liners was developed for use as planning tool; it consists of Roll Call Program which controls activities of simulated ships and Schedule Generator which assigns them sailing dates and services; output provides ship utilization information and financial data; test of simulation against historical data for North Atlantic Trade Route shows good agreement; application to investigation of ship of advanced design for future use is included.
