System described is equivalent for roadways of colormatic display for urban areas; in proposed Decca system, vehicle detectors, eg. inductive loops are sited at regular intervals along road, preferably covering all lanes in one direction; electronic timing circuits are then used to measure intervals between successive vehicles traveling over detectors and, if excessive interval is registered, warning is immediately given at control center responsible for supervision of that particular stretch of roadway.
