Successful results with French railroads electrified since 1920 have given renewed impetus to program to put all possible and feasible mileage on electrified basis; some 6000 mi could be expected to pay, and of these about 2600 mi could be viewed as so favorable as to reflect savings of 450,000,000 francs annually in railroad service costs.
