Conditions leading to overturning and flange-climbing were investigated; effect of radius of curvature on angle of inclination between vehicles; position of four-wheeled vehicle on sharp curve, direction of axlebox lateral forces on sharp curve, and forces contributing to flange force on vehicle when propelled and hauled, are discussed.
