Calculation of data for selection of ship propeller; it is shown that wake fraction and thrust deduction can be expressed in closed form relations for potential flow in which afterbody of hull is represented by sink source distribution of known strength and propeller action by sinks of constant strength density and circumferentially varying strength density; results from reduced forms agree with those for airship Akron.
