Using heating and cooling methods for measurement, average value of 0.23 K cal/sq m hr C was obtained at 18 C; effect of thermal conductivity of blown rigid urethane foam R-11 used for insulation on overall coefficient of heat transfer in refrigerated containers is discussed; refrigerated container type 990, built by Japanese National Railways, was used for measurements to obtain data for estimation of ice or dry loading; measurement of cargo temperature under actual service of container.
