SST features variable sweep, modified arrow wing which is aerodynamically integrated with horizontal tail during supersonic flight; design was selected because of superior aerodynamics achieved through matching wing sweep to requirements of supersonic and subsonic flight; seating arrangement provides 247 tourist seats six-abreast at 34-in. seat pitch and 30 first class seats four-abreast at 40-in. seat pitch; flight controls and description of various systems, such as wing-sweep actuation, accessory power, hydraulic power, fuel, air conditioning, and electrical power; support program and economics.
