Purpose of study is to show application of perturbation technique in study of random response of multidegree-of-freedom nonlinear system simulating airplane moving with constant velocity along runway whose profile is represented by stationary random process; using pertinent characteristics of supersonic civil transport being designed in United States, numerical results are produced for response of simplified idealization of airplane; applicable to evaluation of fatigue damage of landing gear system and structural damage of airframe due to runway roughness.
