Standards or recommendations developed in interest of safety for operator of farm equipment include ASAE R275, ASAE R280, ASAE R235, SAE J851, SAE J719 and J718; some of recommendations are discussed; steps taken by industry to reduce danger of accidents by design considerations and by helping operator to recognize and avoid usual operating hazards of his occupation; need of obtaining information that would serve as guide for new approach to accident reduction is stressed.
