Attempt is made to figure out comparative profitability of trucks, with ordinary solid tires, improved solid tires, and extra large pneumatics; comparison refers to continental European conditions, especially German, but includes allowances for first cost of tires, fuel and repair costs; data are based on actual experiences; result is that, if costs of truck operation alone are considered, the larger the tire the less the cost.
