New design with gasoline-electric power unit greatly facilitates handling of containers, etc., in railway yards; crane is mounted on turntable carried on six-wheeled chassis; power for moving vehicle and for working hoisting gear is taken from four-cylinder Tilling-Stevens Ricardo gasoline-electric unit, driving B.T.-H. motor connected to live axle which drives back axle of four-wheel truck through worm gearing; designed to lift 6 tons at radius of 10 ft. from center line of chassis.
