Summary of characteristics of Blau gas used by Zeppelin Co.; it secures only small increase in load-carrying capacity gained at cost of slight decrease in horizontal speed, when ship is operated under commercial conditions; it is slightly superior to gasoline, but should reliable Diesel engines become available, its vogue will be of short duration, since heavy-oil fuel for latter eliminates fire danger of gasoline while allowing same freedom with regard to its use as emergency ballast.
