Underground railroad owned and operated by Chicago Tunnel Co. and Chicago Warehouse and Terminal Co.; train movements controlled by dispatcher; 62 miles of tunnels and connections, all equipped with 2 ft. gage track and overhead trolley wires for use of electric locomotives; tubes are 6 ft. wide inside and 7 1/2 ft. high and are shaped like horse-shoe; walls are faced with concrete a foot thick.
