Account of application of electric propulsion to S.S. Virginia; data of her performance during second trip when accurate readings were taken of all power used; for main propulsion there are installed two steam-turbine driven generators, having rating of 6600 kw. at 2880 r.p.m.; at full power voltage is 4000 volts, and three-phase current is used.
