Hunslet Africa Ltd, Transvaal, locomotives built for gages between 18 in. and 2 ft; length oa 6 ft 3 in., width 3 ft, height 3 ft 8 in.; by removing 12 bolts to bring down length to 4 ft it can enter most cages on Witwatersrand; horizontal twin cylinder Enfield diesel has one hour output of 15 bhp at 1800 rpm; max speed 4 1/2 mph; air cooled engine operates long hours under extreme temperatures.
