Fairbanks Morse type Diesel electrics are now being built by Canadian Locomotive Co and first twin unit of 3000 bhp is to be tried over mountain section of Canadian Pacific main line; maximum use is made of "packaged" units for control system, dynamic braking, compressor and alternator; engine load and speed regulated automatically by electrohydraulic governor.
