Method used, with assistance of WPA, in collection of field traffic volume data in New York City, was one generally known as controlled short count method, whereby nearly 95% of stations are counted for 2 hr periods simultaneously with control stations; rise in traffic since 1925; parking; traffic flow diagrams given.
