First engines to be converted were two 255-256 class built in 1911; they were of 4-8-0 type and had cylinders 18 by 23 in., 160 lb boiler pressure; conversion consisted of providing new frames, cylinders, and motion, and utilizing existing wheels, boiler, boiler mountings, and all other details which were standard; discussion of other types.
