Electric auxiliary equipment and modern methods of mooring them; because of inherent speed torque relation characteristics, a-c d-c variable voltage system is most suitable so far developed for moving a-c powered Great Lakes vessels; on vessels having d-c auxiliary power, constant potential d-c winches are satisfactory.
