Progress in development of gyroscopically controlled "wings" that keep ships from rolling sidewise, in motion that often causes seasickness; new 24,000 ton Peninsula and Oriental liner Chusan plying between London and India, Singapore and Hong Kong, was fitted with Denny-Brown ship stabilizer and first year afloat has proved it successful; 9 1/2° roll was reduced to 1 1/4°.
