Organization built up by French Highway Authority for maintaining and operating toll roads is examined; to assure proper maintenance, road is broken down into 50 to 60 km long subdivisions, each with 20 to 25 employees directed by public works engineer; traffic security, telecommunication, road signals and, toll collection system are discussed.
