Analysis of electromechanically induced motions inside compressor when electromechanical coupling is weak, and examination of conditions and extent to which conjectured behavior of compressor is predicted analytically; feasibility study indicates induction compressor has potential to provide pressure rise required to propel large and small undersea craft by means of jet-propulsion systems, and this is discussed with reference to submarines and torpedoes; possible use for pumping nonconducting corrosive liquids, for hydrofoils, and medical applications, is noted.
