Minimum-weight analysis of hydrostatically compressed cone stiffened internally with identical, equally spaced rings of rectangular cross section is described; it is shown that minimum-weight design data previously derived for several types of hydrostatically compressed, ring-stiffened cylinders may be useful in minimum-weight design of hydrostatically compressed, ring-stiffened cones; thus, for those aerospace designers familiar with available cylinder minimum-weight design information pertinent to this type of loading, present paper presents corresponding information for cones.
