Summary of work on SRN-1 experimental vehicle, built by Hovercraft Development Ltd Saunders-Roe Ltd; basic principle of machine which is kept airborne on cushion of air established and retained by 'curtain' jet issuing from slit nozzle round its periphery; model tests; existing full scale vehicle is 30 ft long by 24 ft wide, weighs 7500 lb, and is powered by 435 hp Alvis Leonides which drives 4-bladed fan.
