Simple but reasonably valid method for predicting longitudinal stiffness of propeller thrust bearing foundations (usually denoted as foundation spring constant, kf), for use in vibration analysis during ship design; kf is determined as function of R, which is ratio of average of mean lengths of all girders fully effective in shear divided by maximum height of top plate above inner bottom.
