Steamship, which will retain same name, was converted to free piston engine/gas turbine propulsion by Smith's Dock Co for William France, Fenwick and Co; vessel has length bp of 298 ft and is of approximately 3500 tons dw; as converted, main propelling machinery consists of two Smith-Pescara free-piston gasifiers supplying gas to single reversing gas turbine, which drives propeller through gearing; maximum continuous output is 2000 shp.
