Reviewing of photographic technique for determining temperatures in luminous rocket exhaust gases; recent refinements in reduction and analysis of film records; values of temperatures measured at nozzle exit of small rocket motor are compared with theoretical values based on measurement of pressure in chamber, propellant mixture ratio, and dimensions of motor; applicability to studies of expansion process in rocket nozzles.
