Author discusses case for seaplane transoceanic transportation for following reasons; landplane and airship require expensive base facilities, such as runways and mooring masts; both landplane and airship are in danger if compelled to land on water; in reasonably calm conditions it is possible to repair seaplane and take off; general design requirements are presented.
