Light weight subway cars designed and built by Canadian Car, Fort William Div of Hawker Siddeley Canada Ltd for use on Toronto Transit Commission, Bloor-Danforth subway line are described; cars are designed for operation as two-car units in trains consisting of 2, 4 or 6 cars; in each unit, one car carries low voltage battery and 400-cps, 525-v power supply; other car carries air compressor; unpainted exterior of cars has brushed aluminum finish; roof is painted black and protective black undercoating is used on exterior structure and components below car body.
