Summary of conclusions drawn by Qantas Empire Airways, Ltd, following series of studies of number of supersonic project designs; to long haul multiple stage carriers, SST offers very real commercial advantages; timing of about 1970 for first service appears suitable; economic lessons of subsonic jet are reviewed; excessive size of majority of subsonic jets was major factor in economic crisis of past few years; error must be avoided with SST.
