Page, which is propelled and steered by two sixbladed vertical axis variable pitch propellers which permit lateral as well as forward and backward movement; anchoring and beaching operations are controlled from forecastle spanning forward end of main deck; hydraulic ram is used to spring bow free of shore; length of craft is 338 ft, and beam 65 ft; two 1100-hp Fairbanks-Morse diesels give speed of over 10 knots.
