1.8-mi Cypress Street viaduct now part of Eastshore Freeway in city of Oakland in Alameda County, Calif, provides four lanes for north and south bound traffic on separate levels; no interference occurs with congested city street traffic; construction required 5830 piles, 95,000 cu yd of structure concrete, 29,000,000 lb bar reinforcing steel and 8 1/2-mi of bridge railing, at cost of $10,200,000.
