Proposed method of measuring metal surfaces is based on use of thin metallic model (assumed isothermal), placed in vacuum environment; to investigate method accuracy, error calculation for polished copper sample 1 mil thick is presented; calculation predicts error less than 7% for emittance and 10% for absorptance when cyclic variation in radiation less than 4 cycles/ hr is used; technique error is temperature and material dependent; preciseness of method must be evaluated on particular requirements.
