Air pollution probems resulting from motor vehicles are described and factors which bring about problems are discussed; relationship of traffic to concentrations of pollutants in urban areas; opportunities for minimizing motor vehicle created air pollution and exposure of public to high concentrations of contaminants through highway design and urban planning.
